We want Tsaru’s website to be welcoming and usable for everyone, including people with disabilities.
Accessibility on this website
We are working towards an accessible experience. This website has not undergone a full accessibility audit, and we do not yet claim conformance with an accessibility standard.
Pages use descriptive headings and a consistent content order. Navigation and controls are built with keyboard access and visible focus indicators. A skip link leads directly to the main content, and scene images and team portraits have descriptive alternative text.
A more comfortable way to explore
An adapted version of this same website is available with larger small text, more generous line spacing and reduced decorative motion. It keeps the same content, images, navigation, contact links, map and First Habitat window.
- Small text in banners, image captions, team profiles, menus and footers is enlarged for easier reading.
- Scene camera movements and scroll-driven text effects are disabled; the supporting text remains visible.
- The animated nucleus is replaced by the logo’s static orange dot. The map marker stops rotating, and the First Habitat window opens without its zoom animation.
- Both light and dark appearances remain available, along with fullscreen and the language selector. The website is available in English, Dutch and French, including the adapted version.
The adapted settings stay active as you visit the other pages. To return to the original website, click the Tsaru logo at the top or choose Home in the menu. Your light or dark appearance and selected language are retained.
We also respect your device’s reduced-motion preference. If that setting is active, reduced decorative motion continues to apply even in the original website.
Continuing to improve
We continue to review contrast, keyboard navigation, screen-reader behaviour, mobile layouts and text readability. The First Habitat window loads an external website after you activate its link. That website has its own interface and may not follow your adapted text and motion settings or selected language. You can also open it in a separate tab.
